Island Hills Golf Club is a unique property located in Centreville Michigan on picturesque Lake Templene. Entrepreneur and developer Floyd Templin purchased farm ground around the Prairie River and Sauger, Sylvan and Camel Lakes. In 1970 he built the last dam allowed in the state of Michigan and the area was flooded. The end result is beautiful Lake Templene. Currently there are approximately 400 homes built around the lake. The addition of Island Hills Golf Club, a top 25 rated championship golf course, designed by Ray Hearn in the early 1990’s was the final touch to this vacationers dream.

New owners purchased the golf course in January 2010 and requested the design of a master plan to create a true destination for golfers and vacationers.

Boat docks and a marina were designed to allow homeowners lake access to the clubhouse and restaurant. A pavilion and landscaped pathway allowed a direct route to the clubhouse, with the addition of a flowing stream and bridges.

To attract golfers from surrounding cities, three golf villa complexes were located throughout the property and designed to dwell within each distinct landscape. The “Ruins” golf villas framed the gateway to the entrance to the property, and the aesthetics are reflected of the new par 3 called the Ruins due to the existing barn foundations from the early 1800’s. The second set of villas is the “Villages”, with a New England coastal feel reminiscent of many towns along the northern shores of Lake Michigan. The final complex of golf villas named the “Ravines”, are located in the heart of the course with spectacular views of signature holes 16 and 18, with close proximity to the clubhouse. Finally the parking lot was reconfigured to allow a scenic drive through the property and meander to the clubhouse.
